‘The Coming Soon Land’ explores both structures within development and the overgrowth of environment as a factor of postponed development in an unnamed town subject to the lift of tourism. It discusses the prospect of social housing, particularly the growing ambitions of mass unaffordable housing during a crisis nationally where infrastructure is lacking. This often results in a bleak, uneasy, overgrown landscape which becomes unkempt and untouched many years later. Plans postponed.
In exhibition format, the works were displayed as two 23x29in fibre gloss, mounted prints from 5x4 large format negatives (the second and tenth images on this gallery) taken on Ilford Hp5 on an Arca Swiss Camera. There is also upon a plinth between the two, a fine art book of images and text from the series which brings the images into a narrative from multiple points of view.
